Title: General Navigation

Version: 2026-02-20

🔍 Overview

This article summarizes the general navigation tools in Case Amplify.  Case Amplify uses a consistent layout and navigation structure across all pages. The interface is divided into three main areas: an app bar across the top, a sidebar on the left, and the content area filling the remaining space.

🛠️ Features

App Bar

The app bar is pinned to the top of the screen and provides branding, status indicators, and quick-access actions.

Left Side

Element

Description

Menu Button

Shown only on mobile screens. Opens and closes the sidebar navigation drawer.

Logo

The Case Amplify logo, which links back to the Dashboard.

Free Trial Chip

Shown when the organization does not have a paid subscription. Clicking it displays information about the free trial with a "Contact Us" link.

Test Environment Chip

Shown when the organization is marked as a test environment. Clicking it displays a brief explanation.

Right Side

Element

Description

Guest Admin Badge

Shown when the current user is a guest administrator. Displays "GUEST ADMIN" with the tenant name and links to the organization management page.

Feedback Button

A smiley face icon that opens a feedback dialog for submitting comments or suggestions.

Notifications

A bell icon with a badge showing the count of unread notifications. Clicking it opens a dropdown list of recent notifications. Only shown to users with BaseUser permission.

Account Menu

Displays the user's avatar and name. Clicking it opens a dropdown with theme settings, organization switching, and sign-out options. On smaller screens, only the avatar is shown.

Sidebar

The sidebar provides the primary navigation for the application. Its behavior differs between desktop and mobile.

Desktop

On desktop screens, the sidebar is always visible in a collapsed rail mode showing icons with small labels beneath them. It cannot be expanded or collapsed — it remains as a narrow rail on the left side of the screen.

Mobile

On mobile screens, the sidebar is hidden by default and opens as a full-width temporary drawer when the user taps the menu button in the app bar. Navigation items display as standard list items with icons and labels side by side.

Navigation Items

The sidebar contains the following navigation items. Items are only visible when the user has the required permissions and the necessary tenant features are enabled.
